Challenge:

Subaru sought to develop an intuitive and seamless smartwatch application that would allow users to monitor and interact with their vehicle in real time. The app needed to integrate with a vehicle simulator tablet application while ensuring a smooth user experience. Additionally, the design had to align with Subaru’s brand identity and accommodate key functionalities such as API management, a smartwatch framework, a voice intelligence engine, and the TSP platform.

To address Subaru’s needs, I designed the UX and UI for the Subaru iOS Smartwatch App, ensuring a user-friendly and visually cohesive interface. The app was developed to seamlessly connect with the vehicle simulator tablet, allowing real-time monitoring of the simulated Subaru vehicle’s status. My approach focused on intuitive interactions, clear data visualization, and smooth integration of voice intelligence features for hands-free operation.

The smartwatch app successfully met the client’s requirements, providing an engaging and efficient way for users to interact with their vehicle. The seamless integration with the simulator tablet app enhanced usability and provided an accurate evaluation of the smartwatch experience. The project demonstrated the potential of connected vehicle technology, reinforcing Subaru’s commitment to innovation and user-centric design.

MY ROLE:

As the UI and UX Designer, I was responsible for crafting an intuitive and visually engaging experience for the Subaru iOS Smartwatch App. My key contributions included:

• Designing the user interface (UI) to ensure a clean, accessible, and brand-aligned visual experience.

• Developing the user experience (UX) to create seamless interactions between the smartwatch app and the vehicle simulator tablet.

• Implementing real-time monitoring features that provided users with up-to-date vehicle status.

• Integrating voice intelligence for hands-free commands, enhancing accessibility and convenience.

• Ensuring compatibility with Subaru’s API management, smartwatch framework, and TSP platform to optimize functionality.

Through this project, I delivered a well-designed and user-friendly smartwatch app that demonstrated Subaru’s innovative approach to connected vehicle technology.
